Block Island, RI – November 2023

There’s something magical about visiting a summer island in the off-season. In November 2023, my husband and I stole away to Block Island, Rhode Island — a quiet retreat wrapped in golden grasses, whispering winds, and skies that seemed to hold their breath just for us.

We wandered winding green paths that cut through fields of amber, leading to a lone tree standing like a sentinel of the season. The hush of late autumn wrapped around us, and every step felt like a meditation — a moment to breathe, reflect, and simply be.

One trail led us through a sandy path bordered by a rustic fence, flanked by trees still clinging to their last bursts of color. The air was crisp, the light soft, and the silence deep — broken only by the crunch of leaves beneath our boots and the occasional call of a distant bird.

And then there was the coast. Oh, the coast.

We stood together at sunset, watching the sky ignite in streaks of orange and gold behind the island’s iconic lighthouse. The waves whispered stories of summer long gone, and the horizon stretched wide with promise. It was one of those moments that makes you reach for your partner’s hand — not out of habit, but out of awe.

November may not be the typical time to visit Block Island, but for us, it was perfect. Quiet. Soulful. A mosaic of light, love, and gratitude.
